Time for a change?

farmers marketHave your dinner menus gone stale? Are you bored with the standard fare? Then do what all the best chefs do: Check out what’s in season and let the freshest choices shape your meal.

There’s no better place to do that than at your local farmer’s market. That’s where you’ll find all the best produce, food and specialty products made with you in mind. Delicious fish smothered in olives? Why not? How about honey and infused oils and vinegar drizzled over fresh greens, herbs or bread? Bring it on!

Local strawberries are a natural draw, but why not try something different like a strawberry salsa? Sound unusual? That’s the point! Check out the recipe below and see whether you’re not tempted–or make up a recipe of your own.

Strawberry salsa goes great with corn chips, or for the sweeter tooth, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on pita chips, then dip. At the market, you’ll even find hand-made glass dishes in which to serve your beautiful salsa.

The forecast for Saturday is sunny and fantastic. And… we’ll have the pleasure of the acoustic guitar and powerful voice of Elke Robitaille. So take advantage and come see us at the Cedar Mill Farmer’s Market. We’ll be open as usual, 8am to 1pm.

See you there! 🙂
